ABOUT THE CITY
Small city with a big personality.
Preston is a medium-sized city in the North West of England. It is one of the lowest-cost places to live in the country, and with the campus within walking distance of the city centre, everything is literally on students’ doorsteps, and the opportunities are endless.
Preston’s city life has everything students need to relax, including a variety of shops, outdoor markets, free museums, cafes, two stunning parks, and even a nature reserve during the day, and plenty of restaurants, pubs, and clubs to entertain them in the evenings.
There are a range of festivals that occur throughout the year to cater to people from all backgrounds and faiths. Student reviewers have praised how much there is to do in Preston both during the day and for their evening entertainment.
Preston is a very well-connected city and enjoys short journey times by train to urban hubs like Manchester and Liverpool, in addition to great access to the world-renowned landscapes of the Lake District. Students can reach the train station within just 10 minutes’ walk from campus and can find themselves in London or Edinburgh in the same day.
