Our Master of International Tourism Management is a multidisciplinary postgraduate programme that has been developed to eductate tourism managers and leaders of the future. In response to a challenging and rapidly developing organisational environment, the programme has been developed in close cooperation with industry partners.

The tourism branch is an extremely diverse sector. As a result of its rapid growth, it offers excellent career prospects for MA International Tourism Management graduates. Job opportunities exist in a wide range of globally-operating local, regional, national and international tourism organisations. Potential employers include the various public sector institutions and non-profit organisations that regulate and promote the tourism industry, as well as private tourism companies.

THE STUDY PROGRAMME

Our International Tourism Management programme is a full-time Masters programme which is entirely taught in English, over the course of three semesters (90 ECTS).

During the first semester you will be introduced to the fundamental issues of International Tourism Studies, Research methods as well as International Business. Additionally, you will participate in a Business Simulation game to assess your level of subject knowledge.

During the second semester you will deepen your knowledge in International Tourism Studies focusing on intercultural issues, sustainability, and marketing. In addition, you will participate in an exciting integrated tourism project with an international excursion. This excursion provides you with first-hand, practical insights into the tourism industry and its challenges.

In the third and final semester you will complete your studies with the Master Thesis which requires in-depth empirical research in your chosen area of expertise.

In addition to the tenured faculty staff, the faculty regularly invites lecturers from its international partner institutions and external professionals from industry, trade and the service sector to contribute to the Master Programme.
